Company History
East-West Development, Inc. (EWD) was established in 1979 in the state of Ohio, United States, specializing in international trade and consulting services. For more than three decades, EWD has assisted many western companies establish marketing and sales in the Asia Pacific Rim.
In 2007, we registered East-West International Group, Inc. (EWIG) to concentrate and dedicate to the food industry. Our major tasks are helping American food companies find distributors and organize promotional activities in the Asia Pacific Rim. Our current marketing efforts have been concentrated in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Philippines).
Our multi-cultural and multi-lingual staff in the USA and our branch offices throughout the People’s Republic of China (PRC), Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea utilize our over 40 years of experience to help western companies enter the vast and untapped markets of Asia. Our services include: market surveys, grocery and department store research and distribution analyses, distribution referral and set-up, pre-show local market tours, exhibition on-site assistance, translation and one-on-one meetings, follow-up calls on leads and business reports. We can also provide tour guides, hotel, and transportation arrangements for show participants and spouses. All of these activities are essential for the successful entrance of new products into Asian markets.

ABOUT OUR FOUNDER
1977
Jiunn-Der Wu received a Ph.D. in biochemistry from George Washington University Medical College, Washington, D.C.
1978-1980
Jiunn-Der Wu worked as a research scientist at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation to study cholesterol metabolism and its effect on heart disease.
1979
Jiunn-Der Wu founded East-West Development and spent years in China to learn about Chinese business customs and governmental policy toward foreign trade.
1983-Now
Our hard work and knowledge about Chinese business mentality, together with my personal friendships and connections with key people in China, have lead to many contractual agreements. We helped several American firms sign approximately 50 million dollars in contracts for product sales and joint venture enterprises.
Our success in China trade has resulted in many multinational companies appointing us as their Chinese consultant. Some of our clients were internationally known, such as American Hospital Supplies, AMSCO, Bayer Corporation, Johnson & Johnson, Mennen Medical Corp., Whittaker International Corp., Retroactive Bioscience, MicroArmor, Audia Group, Phillips Hillips & Temro Industries, Kishida Chemical Company, Ellis Lumber, Quantas, Ashland University, Myers University, etc.
Established our joint ventures in China including International Qigong Institute, Haide Electronics, Guangqichu Cosmetics, Yantai Shengde Biological Technology Co., Ltd., Longkou Shengde Biological Technology Trade Co., Ltd., and Yaitai East-West Trade Development Company, Ltd. etc.
1999
Appointed as director by Mt. Sinai Healthcare in Cleveland, Ohio to establish the first hospital-affiliated Integrative Medicine & Wellness Center in the state of Ohio.
2000
Partnered with MD and other medical professional to establish the first independent Integrative Medicine and Wellness Center in Parma, Ohio. Frequently invited traditional Chinese doctors to the clinic to demonstrate Chinese medical techniques and serve the community. Currently, serves as a consultant for American and European medical, nutritional and pharmaceutical firms in marketing to the Pacific Rim.
2002
Formed Quality Life International Group, Inc. to produce and market healthcare and cosmetic products in the USA and overseas.
2007-Now
Established East-West International Group, Inc. to market and distribute American food products internationally.
